STANDING REFERENCE — NOT A CONTEST RULESET
SITE TERMS & LEGAL // STANDING REFERENCE
Last updated: 2026-08-09

These terms apply to your use of the website at thevoidbetween.com (the “Site”). They cover copyright and intellectual property, the conditions of using the Site, how the Site handles information, and how these Hunts are made. They do not govern our contests — each contest (“Hunt”) has its own Official Rules, linked from that Hunt’s page. Where this page and a Hunt’s Official Rules both mention a topic, the Official Rules govern that Hunt. By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who runs this Site

This Site is operated by The Void Between, a business registered in Australia and based in Queensland (“we”, “us”, “our”). Our contact details are in section 12 at the end of this page, and you can contact us there about anything on this page.

2. Copyright and intellectual property

All content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, the “The Void Between” name and wordmark, page designs, images, audio, video, code, and the puzzles and materials connected to our Hunts — is published by The Void Between. To the extent that copyright or other intellectual-property rights subsist in it, those rights are owned by us or the content is used with permission. Whether or not such rights subsist in any particular item, the conditions below apply to your use of the Site. (Character-distinction sample for typeface validation: O 0 Q · I l 1 · B 8 · S 5 · rn m — every glyph should read unambiguously in both light and dark themes.)

You may view and share links to the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not, without our prior written permission: copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute any part of the Site; modify, adapt, or create derivative works from Site content; use any Site content for commercial purposes; or remove or alter any copyright or ownership notice. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

3. Using this Site

You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to: interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its hosting; use any automated system (bot, scraper, or harvester) to access or copy the Site except for standard, well-behaved search-engine indexing; use the Site to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights. The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the Site at any time without notice.

4. Contests and Hunts

Our contests (“Hunts”) are governed by their own Official Rules, published on each Hunt’s page at thevoidbetween.com/drifts/. Those Official Rules — not this page — set out everything specific to entering a Hunt, including eligibility, how to enter, prizes, intellectual-property terms for entries, and how we handle the limited personal information involved in running a Hunt and paying a winner. If you are looking for contest terms, please read the Official Rules for that Hunt.

5. Privacy

We keep the Site deliberately simple. It is a static website: there are no accounts, no logins, and no sign-up or contact forms. You can browse without giving us any personal information.

  • Server logs and analytics. Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information (such as a truncated IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and to understand general traffic. Any analytics we use are aggregate and are not used to identify you personally.
  • Contest data. The only personal information we deliberately collect is a contest winner’s payment details (a PayPal email address), and we collect that off this Site, by direct message, solely to pay the prize. We delete it once payment is confirmed. Full details are in the relevant Hunt’s Official Rules.
  • Email you send us. If you email us, we use your message only to respond to you.

We are a small business as defined by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and most of that Act’s obligations do not apply to us. We have nonetheless set out the above so you know what to expect. We do not sell or trade personal information. If you have contacted us and want us to delete your message, email us at the address in section 12 and we will.

6. No affiliation with social-media platforms

This Site and our Hunts are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or any other platform. Platform names and logos are the property of their respective owners. Any questions should be directed to us, not to any platform.

7. Links to other sites

The Site links to external sites, including our social-media channels. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or availability of any external site. A link does not imply endorsement.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about the Site’s accuracy, completeness, or availability, and we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. How this work is made

We build these Hunts with the help of AI tools. That includes imagery and visual assets, music and sound, the written text, and parts of the puzzle and story development itself. The mix varies from piece to piece, and this work sits alongside ordinary production — research, editing, design, and writing.

What does not vary: a person chooses the subject of every Hunt, checks the facts a clue depends on, confirms the puzzle can be solved and is fair, reviews what gets generated, changes it where needed, and stands behind what’s published. The Hunts point at real things in the real world.

If you want to know how a particular piece was made, get in touch — contact details are at the end of this page.
